I've been reading some posts on CC and it seems like so many people are successful in maintaining high GPA's, SAT scores, loads of AP classes, and ECs.

How do you do all that? and still manage to have a life?
I've been struggling with that.

I'm gonna be a junior next fall.
GPA 4.0 unweighted.
took APEH sophomore year
junior year: AP Bio, AP enligsh composition, APUH, calculus, chemistry
Asian, international, live in Indonesia. international school.
my school has 3 sports seasons. i'm the only girl who does all three: soccer, bball, and swimming.
student council member. bunch of outreaches.
but that's pretty much where it ends. not much ECs but not much opportunities.

but the problem is after doing sports i really dont have time to do any other activities. and with my crazy schedule next year i don't even know if i'll have time for friends.

How can some people manage to do bunch of ECs and sports and good grades?

You don’t need a bunch of ECs. It’s preposterous to think of that. It’s nice to have a balance, but do something you’re passionate in.

Your EC’s should be fine. Time constraints might be much, but learn how to manage time.

Thanks.
it just seems like i’m involved in so much stuff going on around my community, but it’s really no namer stuff. we live in a third world country so a lot of just helping the locals and stuff like that which i love.
but just worried about college I guess.

Well the thing is, do it because you love it. The trick is showing to colleges that you’re doing it for you and not just to get into a good school.

Well you play sports 3 seasons, so that’s considered a lot already. And as for your question, some people are just naturally smart so they don’t have to study a lot while doing ECs, or they just get no sleep.

I’ll be honest, I pretty much coasted until my Junior year. Really the only advice I can give you is to do your homework early. Even if it’s not due for a week, start it the day it’s assigned. Assignments will pile up quickly and trying to finish everything in one or two nights messes you up for the entire week (or year, in my case).
