Deans' Honor Scholarship

Did anybody else receive an update about the Deans scholarship?

i did but i didnt get it

Heard back, did not get DHS and no add’l merit. Congrats to those who get/got the DHS!

A bit late but I thought I’d share stats if it’d help anyone on here!

I am from Florida and applied under Public Health.

I am absolutely ecstatic to be a recipient of the Tulane DHS. I have now booked a flight to visit Tulane during their March honors weekend.

General briefing of my stats:
ACT 33
GPA 3.96 UW, 5.09 W
Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): 21/575
I’ve taken 6 AP classes (Human, World, USH, Lang, Enviro, Psych) and am taking 4 this year (Macro, Lit, Gov, Calc AB)
I have taken 10 Dual Enrollment classes, 7 of which I am taking this year. Last semester I took Management, Personal Finance, and College Algebra. This semester I’m taking General Bio with Lab, Stats, and Micro.
Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): AP Scholar with Distinction, National Merit Semifinalist.
I won a district-wide state competition for Spanish 3, placing 2nd in Impromptu + Declamation. I also won my district’s Literary Fair, 1st place in the fable category.
I am President/Founder of my school’s Psychology Club, VP of my school’s Drafting Club, VP of Science Club, and member of NHS/NEHS.
313 recorded total hours of volunteer service. I volunteer weekly at my hospital’s information desk, I was a part of key club and tutored elementary schoolers through my freshman and sophomore year. I assist my drafting teacher with helping students of lower levels. I also do various service activities through NHS and NEHS
I wrote the Why Tulane Essay and had a pretty good hook for my common app. Good teacher recs.

I have even more details on a previous comment I wrote in the Tulane 2022 app!

I’d say that my project was pretty good. I was quite surprised when I received it because I saw a lot of other applications and thought mine simply wasn’t good enough. I expressed my desire to learn of what was in other people’s boxes, emphasizing on the importance of culture in shaping who one is. I then proceeded to discuss how it related to my major and fascination of other cultures, and what I would put in my box relating to my culture.

The funniest part was that I was originally deferred from Tulane! I found it super ironic. But I sent them an email letting them know that I would be likely to attend if I received enough merit based aid, and I can now afford it, which I’m super happy about. It seems that just about all that I did led me to this moment and I couldn’t be happier.

Oh, and if it’s worth mentioning, about a week after sending the email, I was informed that I was in, invited to the honors college, and received a Distinguished Scholar’s merit of $25k

If anyone wants to message me of more specifics (like I can link my video, detail my stats, anything you want), please PM me!

now I’m just currently deciding between attending Tulane, UMiami (FL), or UFlorida. It’s such a struggle ah but I’m truly so fortunate to have such amazing options to choose between. I wish everyone the best of luck in their college journeys!

@kuustarr , Congratulations! When did you hear back?

@am4158 Thank you so much! I heard on the 31st of January. I totally forgot to update CC on it and I was surprised when nobody offered up their stats, so I figured I might be of some help.

Hello, I am a current Sophomore at Tulane and my sister just received the Dean’s Honors Scholarship! She had an unweighted GPA of about a 99, 33 on the act, and great letters of recommendation. She has a ton of stellar leadership positions and worked multiple jobs throughout high school. Below is her project if you want to see it, and if you have any questions about DHS or Tulane life please message me!
