Hey guys, i just wanted to know what are the requirements to get into DS Program, or what the adcoms really look for and what are the stat ranges for SAT scores........ and do we need SAT -2 subject tests for DS or just only the SAT alone? And how is it compared to PLAN II program??

Thanks...

Don’t need SAT II. My understanding is that Dean’s Scholar is for kids who are motivated to do research in the Natural Sciences. Plan II is more for the kid who wants a well rounded, comprehensive liberal arts education with lots of writing and discussion. A kid who KNOWS he wants to study Physics might prefer DS. I think you have to opt into Plan II consideration in addition to opting into Honors consideration.

There are a couple of other interesting honors programs fwiw. There is one for premeds and there is an invent your own major one, too, not to mention CS.

oh ok thx… so u think a GPA of 4.2 and an SAT of 2290 is good enough… well not regarding the EC’s and letter of recc…? @Lizardly

In terms of pure stats, yes. But those other elements of the app are also very important, so work on them.
