I know many states still have to have their state competition, but who here has qualified for the int'l career development conference so far?! And in which event(s)?! So excited!

I have qualified - International Business Plan from TX!
I just have to decide whether to go or not - it’s so close to AP exams and i am taking 6 this year + missing a week of school and I already have missed almost 2 weeks due to other competitions.

From New York, Sports and Entertainment Marketing!

I’m going! HUman Resources and I’m from Massachusetts. Do you guys know if this counts as absences or as a field trip

Hello there fellow DECA-ers!
Coming from CA with Entrepreneurship Promotion Project.
I’m personally gonna go and bring all my AP textbooks with me.

@ Daniellasv: I think ICDC counts as a field trip. Here, anyway.

Just qualified today from MO in apparel and accessories marketing! ICDC will be a blast!

@yankee hey, remember me from last year? I won’t be going this year, but it looks like we’re both headed off to some fantastic schools. good luck to you in SEM!

i’m going! for the advertising campaign event :)

HRM represent! Anybody want to trade pins? I have an elusive South Dakota pin. :)

As for the AP exam problem, I’ll probably bring one or two books along. I know we’ll be freakishly busy the entire time so it’ll be tough to squeeze in some hours. But we’ll see.

I’m so excited! This is my first ICDC!! But term paper due two days after ICDC and two APs are a little less exciting…

I’ll be there. Qualified in Apparel and Accessories Marketing, and I’m a dude.

I’m also lucky enough to get to miss all but the Monday of the week before DECA, so I’ll be at school on Monday and then back on Thursday of the following week. But it’s senior year, so who cares?

FBLA is better

Human Resource Management from Kansas whattup! So pumped :)

First year in DECA this year. Qualified twice in Financial Services Team Decision Making as well as International Business Plan. As they only let you compete in one event at ICDC (stupid, if you ask me) I will be taking my International Business Plan. From CO!

What are you guys planning to do outside the official events?

Our adviser is making us go on this Mormon tour. -____- I initially wanted to go to the M83 concert at In The Venue, but none of my lamo friends wanted to go with me :’(

funny joke blazer!

In DECA, is everything in a group or are there individual competitions? Also, does this international competition literally mean competing with other nations or is it a round to go to an international competition?

Some events are individual while others are for groups/teams. And yeah, it’s literally an international competition! There are a ton of Canadians and also some from places like Puerto Rico, etc.

^That’s so cool. How do you pick the category that you’re in?
