we can start signing up for decals during telebears phase 2 right? but are decals really easy to add/drop like regular classes (even if there's like certain application/admission requirements)? and we can sign up for these as they get created, even until the first week or so of school right?

DeCals don’t generally start until 2-3 weeks after the first semester of classes. Keep an eye on the class lists to be sure and follow the instructions the class you’re interested in gives, but there’s very little else you can do to guarantee a spot.

You definitely do not need to worry about signing up for them right now. The registration is often taken care of by the instructors (who hold onto the CCNs until they’re sure who shows up is going to sign up), but sometimes there are open CCNs posted, and you can register for those once you see them.

In any case: keep an eye on the DeCal website. :)

so i was browsing the schedule of classes and came across some classes numbered 98 and realized they were Decals and their CCN were posted. However, these specific Decals were not up on the website yet. if i try and sign up for one now even though it’s not up on the decal website, what would happen?

More than likely you’ll get an “Instructor approval required” type message. Most of the DECals have their CCNs distributed by lottery or application, meaning that you obtain the CCN and CEC from the instructors themselves at the first or second meeting of the DECal. If you do manage to successfully register by randomly choosing one of the classes on the SoC, well… you probably won’t even know what it is, much less when it meets!

decal.org is the site you want to keep an eye on, not the Schedule of Classes. That’s where they’ll post everything relevant.

but if i need the decal class to meet the minimum unit req of a full-time student and we don’t sign up for a decal until a few weeks into class or whatever…what would happen? cuz like some loans/scholarships would require us to be enrolled full-time…

in that case, sign up for some other class for now (try some class that no one wants and has huge numbers of spots so that you don’t take someone’s spot), drop it when the decals are listed - usually the first or second week.

i signed up for one via the CCN given on the SoC because it said the name of the decal under “notes” and i didnt receive a bad message. we’ll see what happens i guess…
