December 13th SSAT scores!

aww it's okay nasafato. wat math level are you at?

um, i did algebra 2 last year, doing geometry this year. but it's alright, i got a 99th in reading and verbal, so its all good. i never really was a math whiz.

and you're taking three math courses? That's... alot... Which ones?

hmmm i wanna repeat geometry which im taking this year as a 9th grader. my teacher is new and our class is manipulative...........he's fun to play with. wat can i say? lol im taking algebra 2 and pre-calculus so i can take calculus next year

oh yeah, I remember you saying something like that about your teacher, in another thread. In tenth grade... I'd be taking calculus too, lol. maybe I should also take two math courses over the summer, like one of my friends. Admittedly, he still sucks at geometry, and has a C- right now...

lol yeaa. we aint exactly doing any learning in geometry. but he is yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmyyyyyyyy. he's shockingly good at math too. like got a 30+ on the ACT (not sure if that's good because im more familiar with the SAT's) but im thinking it's good. actually i have a 176% in his class, and still im not learning anything. lol

176%?!? how much freaking extra credit did he give out? Makes me feel good, knowing I have a highly competent geometry teacher, who's still sharp as ever even after, lemme see, thirty plus years of teaching. And I have no idea what the ACT's are. And I've never taken the SAT's. There are alot of middle schoolers who take it, including a lot of my friends, I just really don't get why. If they're smart enough and study hard enough, they can start taking it in high school and still do great.

hmm lol, i only got the extra credit. i talked him into it. im kinda persuasive with new teachers. those are the only teachers i can talk into giving me extra credit. i only do extra credit so i can slack off and still get good grades. dont really need it. like a safety net, if i bomb something, i wont suffer the consequences

With a grade of 176, you could bomb a LOT of tests and still get good grades, this far into the year. Our geometry teacher gives out a good amount of extra credit, but that's only if you solve the "bonus" questions. If you can't solve them, you don't get any extra credit. If you get them right, you get two extra points that get averaged in.

You won't find any extra credit like that in highscool Senay....so get ready. My school doesn't even have extra credit

I thought she was already in ninth grade... stupid me. My geometry teacher gives extra credit, but yeah, nothing of that magnitude.

Maybe she is...i just assume everyone here is an 8th grader until I read otherwise.

i am in high school, 9th grader. i also got that kind of extra credit in middle school

Well if I see a 176% and I'm an admissions officer I would think your highscool is a joke and discredit most of your grades. But thats just me...

they dont ask for percentage, they ask for letter grade. it would be A+

My MIDDLE school math teacher doesn't even give out extra credit. Unless you get a very hard problem right. And then you get one point. Which "really" helps. :(

yall are making me feel really behind im in 9th grade too and im in algebra 1 and i also have the highest grade in my class with an 89 my teachers dont usually give extra credit except on like semester exams no thats not true my spanish teacher will give us extra points on some stuff

I get extra credit, so I have like an 108% in one class. Could that be a problem? I'm not sure what it says on my transcripts.

And I took the SSAT on Dec. 13, and I got, overall, a 93%. I'm a ninth grade girl.

108 is fine, 176 just sounds stupid. At what point did the guy say no, you can't do this as extra credit, you don't need it.

wait, wadda u mean? i only needed to do one thing to get a 176%. i didnt do 20 different things to get it. i wouldnt even try that hard even if i needed it. plus, he's a new teacher. hasnt learned yet, obviously
