December 2007 World History

China's defeat in both [Opium] wars forced the government to tolerate the opium trade. The United Kingdom coerced the government into signing Unequal Treaties, opening several ports to foreign trade and yielding Hong Kong to Britain.

What about the question on the black plague, HIV, and smallpox?

I said something about cultural interaction.

yeah thats what i put.
any more questions?

Did we ever figure out why western countries resented Japan?

i dont know.. we really have to make list.
i think i might try.. us history people already made theirs

hm im trying to think of more
there was one "who wrote about bad conditions in the factories"
i didnt answer it

and there was one about gravity which was newton

who were the philosophes?
people who supported societal reforms?

and then a quote about a law
and the first answer was the person who killed the free men were given lesser punishments than those who killed skilled slaves or something like that
and the second answer was the the punishment depended on who you killed

Charles Dickens wrote about bad conditions in the factories.

rig veda was one of the answers, i dont remember the question

any recommendations for books to study from?

r u sure about charles dickens?

i read both barrons and kaplan. barrons has all of the necessary information but is also very fluffy. plus, while kaplan lacks when it comes to graphics, barrons has plenty. barrons tests are notorious for being more difficult than the actual thing. so id recommend using the barrons book but also taking tests from college board or kapln. also make sure that you go over your tests.
also, i used the ap world history flash cards by barrons. theyre really helpful if you get bored easily. its 350+ cards that range the whole test span and they provide the important details, not the extraeneous stuff you get in the barrons book. plus you can jump around through the stack, just like the format of the test.
hope that helps.

how much did the indian population get reduced in north america?

i saw numbers and didn't touch that one

well charles dickens did write oliver twist....

For the Hammurabi Code question I said status of the person who was killed

75% for Indians killeed

cool thanks for that kscnoko... anyone know if it was nkrumah for first african leader?

yes he is one

i looked up and barron's and i am still not sure if the african leader is of ghana or kenya
