English: pretty tricky i think.
Math: guessed on 2
Reading: Ididn't think it was too bad.
Science: Ran out of time!

do they determine these curves based on the results from today? or are they predetermined?

also, if the ACT doesn't have an experimental section, how do they "equate" the difficulty of the questions?

I've heard that they equalize the curves using the scores from today. For example, if the average score on the last test was 25 and that of this test was 20, there would be a greater curve on this one to bring up that 20 to 25.
Nobody knows for sure though.

English: Normal
Math: Hard-Normal
Reading: Hard-Normal
Science: Crazy Hard
Essay: Another impossible question...

I hopefully did 31+, as I already have 30. I feel confident though, I didn't get caught on time in any section. Science was pretty easy for me, but I was thinking of everyone else on CC around half way through :D

English: Pretty Easy (I had about 5 mins to check my answers)
Math: Normal (had to guess for the last 5)
Reading: Normal (I actually got interested in all the passages!)
Science: Enough said.
Essay: I liked the topic...but don't think I elaborated enough.

Yeah.. the topic this time was much better than last one's topic about tardiness... They are both dreadfully stupid though.

Would this be a realistic curve to expect for Science this time?
36 -0, -1 (39-40)
35 -2 (38)
34 -3 (37)
33 -4 (36)
32 -5 (35)
31 -6 (34)
30 -7 (33)

Am I being too generous or too stingy?

I think the science curve will actually be better than that

^really? by how much?

cause looking at the some old tests, it sometimes drops by 2 each time u miss a question so I thought I was already being very generous?

IMO, the science curve should be:

36: -0, -1 (39-40)
35: -2, -3 (37-38)
34: -4, -5 (35-36)
33: -6 (34)
32: -7 (33)
31: -8 (32)
30: -9 (31)

^That'd be great if it was true!

Someone was saying that -2 in science (in June?) was a 36, and this science test was harder than that one

can someone post the exact June Science curves?

In June:

-1: 36
-2, -3: 35
-4: 34
-5: 32
-6: 31
-7: 30

And yeah this test was wayyyy harder than June.

^so -2 wasn't a 36 in June?

Nope, only -1 was 36

well if the ACT Science was really harder in June and of the ACT test people know what they're doing, then

-1: 36
-2, -3: 35
-4: 34
-5: 32
-6: 31
-7, -8: 30

Something like that hopefully? Or would it be too far to say -9 = 30

I think -2 will be a 36 for this science. I don't think many people got -0/-1

This is all assuming that the guesses people put in for the Science were in the majority incorrect. If people's guesses were good and lots of people did well on this, then the curve will be low :(

^yes but this is CC
I am sure there are other people who guessed on a lot more so they will bring the socres down

and also, are you assuming that they determine the curve after the test? I always thought the curve was predetermined.
