Yes that’s the one i put and I guessed!!!

For the “social experiment” question, I don’t think it was the one with “reviving interest in culture.” It was more mundane but fit the question, which is “support aspiring writers who were unemployed”.

For the Painting passage, I thought the photograph “more depicted reality” than the paintings (Choice A)? Because I remember a sentence about “It wasn’t until photography was invented that paintings became not as realistic”. I’m probably wrong though. Do we have a general consensus for the answer?

does anyone remember putting an answer saying “tall” when it talked about palm something

and also are palm leave or whatever they are, less endangered in ecosystems?

The photography question was tricky because the “comparison” that the question referred to occurred in only one sentence that was similar to:

“All of the churches, at least before photography, had to be drawn with a passion for detail.”

Therefore, the author’s point was that before photography, an artist had to be very exact in his methods. So I believe the answer was something like: “exact measurements” Can’t remember how it was worded.

The author said that photography was “a mix of fact, error, and wishful thinking”, so I’m sure the answer was “partially distorts reality”

agreed w/ ironturtle

the palms were…diverse.

what did the 3rd and 4th paragraphs of the palms passage accomplish or whatever? - was it to provide context info for further discussion of hawaiin palms? or was it the one that argued for worldwide preservation or w/e? I ended up putting context info…

Palms were less likely to be endangered because the passage said that Hawaii’s fauna didn’t have defenses to protect them, because it was isolated from the mainland.

Wow, I majorly screwed up Reading…

haha soo “tall” wasnt an answer, i had around 10 secs left and i say the number 9,000 ft or something and rushed and guessed tall

I don’t think it was the italicized one. I had that, and in the last 20 seconds or so re-read part that mentioned something about fruits or w/e, and it made me pretty sure it was C/H.

For the Harlem one I put that it was a bigger movement than normally thought or w/e. It was A or B and began “an endeavor.” I was pretty sure.

Photography was tricky. He said that it wasn’t until photography that there were pictures more accurate. So the implication is both that the artist was very attentive, but also that photography is more accurate. I chose the latter but now I think it was the former.

The last question was DEFINITELY the italicized one (choice A). I remember spotting the following sentence with less than 30 seconds remaining: “Only four species of (Choice A) has been found to exist, located in Kauai (which is in Hawaii)”. Therefore, we can infer that it is a native species, since it’s only been found there!

What were the choices for the Harlem question about “bigger movement than normal thought”?

^ I put the italicized one too
Same logic

I also put the bigger movement one

The artwork one chewed up 9+ minutes, leaving me so little time for the last one, and the plant one was arguably the easiest (at least for me)

I didn’t get what kind they were talking about, but it was so obvious it was about that one guy and painting churches and stuff, only to finally realize it after way too long

The Harlem Rennaisance passage wasn’t the easiest either.

The first and last ones were harder than the middle ones IMO.

Poor time management FTL

I don’t think I should’ve brought my watch, when it hit 8 minutes per passage I felt like I should already be reading the next one and gave me so little time to do questions. Made me feel really rushed.

-1 confirmed I guess. It sucks, because that was my first choice, too. I couldn’t find the term anywhere on a re-read though.

@WingsReborn: What did you put for the question which one of the choices was “bigger movement than normal thought”?

^That one. I looked at it for way too long, but I do recall being quite sure when I picked it. The last sentence in the paragraph said something that definitely eluded. It was pretty much the exact same sentence with synonyms replacing the original words.

Oh my bad - I meant to say what the question was.

Everyone: what other questions to the painting one was hard besides the “photography” question?

I think it was like “the last sentence of the first paragraph suggests that…”
