why is it 7? im really confused.

18 (milk ) + 23 ( candy ) + 19 (newspaper)

11 bought only milk
16 bought only candy
12 bought only newspaper

wait. i dont think these were the numbers. can someone explain?

What was the exact wording of the question overrated?

um I think I first did 60-18=42 since 18 waas the # ppl who bought milk and ppl who bought milk bought nothing else, so that’s out of the picture. then they gave us 26 and 23 i think? ( i forgot sorry) but i used the formula (# who bought A) + (# who bought B) - x = 42 and my answer was like -x=-7…which is x=7

26+23 - x = 42
x=7

And also I think for one of the elements it said that those people who bought that item did not buy any other item.

60-18 = 42

26+23= 49

49-42 = 7

72 different book combos…

wht qustion is that?

@dguptaa: i think it was like 6 comic books and 12 biography books…how many diff combinations if each combination has 1 comic book/1 biography book

Pooh or daem0n did one of you NOT have math experimental? If so can you tell me what your math sections were?

UHH overrated. i believe the answer is 7 because there are 67 items bought and 60 people total. and ur #s were correct. 18,23,19 bought. the 18 only bought the milk. x # of ppl bought a both from the 19 and the 23. since x is counted twice basically u subtract x from the total and that has to equal the 60 total. so 18+x+(19-x)+(23-x)=60 x=7

for the sphere Q, this is y i think da answer is root 2

4 wrong, 1 grid in 2 omit score???

@blue: i think my experiemental was writing not math. anyways i had a math section that began with a line that had a total length of 18… um something about 2 pie charts that shows women/men’s interest in music (jazz, other, etc). something about a sphere in cube with volume 8. one math section had a last problem about 20 million in 1990 and 24 million in 1994…sry don’t really rmeember, maybe if you told me yours

futuresuccess, uhhh u do know that a circle doesnt reach the corner of a square right?..its physically impossible, it curves around the corner

Hey
Err…i’m not sure which sections I had

I had the griot question as an experimental (I believe)

I also had the sphere inside a cube of area 8
A circle inside an equalitaral triangle inside a larger triangle (75 pi)

What were some questions on a math experimental?

@future, i agree with evil panda, a circle of radius root 2 cannot fit
cube of area 8 = cube with side lengths of 2 (2^3=8)
therefore, diameter=2, r=1

futuresucces: Thats not a diameter. If you look there is a space between the cube and the corner.

4 wrong (1 grid in) 2 omit, score???

^680 probably

does anyone remember What number the 72 books one was?

And what letter choice was 72?

Okay Dam0n let me help. How many math sections did you have? 3 or 4? If you had 4 you had an experimental math. If you had three you did not get an experimental math. Also, griots was NOT experimental just so you know.

@dugptaa: 72 was 12*6 or something for books; i have no clue what number/letter it was
@flcollege: that would be impossible…where would those two legs of 1 come from?

QUESTION:
ax^2+bx+c=1
x^2+bx+c=-5
@x=-1

solving for a, a is 7 right?

@blue: i believe it was 3. I had a passage about mehndi, writing (HEATH), farming, and robots and whole bunch of nonsense. (c/p from another thread), so i think it was experimental cr, not math
