January 2010 - Math Level 2

How was it, i thought it got pretty hard towards the end.

I thought 40-50 were easier. Overall I thought the test would be really easy but it had a few challenging questions.

Has the embargo been lifted?

I don’t think so, last time it was lifted around 12 est. I got the same letter for a lot of the questions at the end, did anyone else?

yep I did too jansat. It was like three to five in a row. Someone confirming that makes me feel a lot better.

Does anyone know if the tests are the same or they could be different?

it’s the same.
last year, after the biology subject test, everyone was talking about the same questions.

embargo’s been lifted

Alright the embargo has just been lifted, so I think we’re safe to discuss test-specific problems.

I’ll start it off… Does anyone know the answer to the quadratic regression problem? It involved a boy throwing a ball and you had to predict how many seconds until the ball hit the ground.

I got a lot of E’s at the end. Whats the answer to the plane question, the circle question with triangles in it.

embargo lifted bros. ^ that was a regression problem

i skipped it cause i kept getting 4.7

ax^2+bx+c=y

c is 1.5

was “a” negative?

so can we start talking about todays math II c test?
perhaps we could attempt to recall most of the questions?

yeah dude fire away. number 50 anyone? I got E

i believe the one with the random things intersecting was the only right answer for that one

the rest said R was parallel to the other planes, which is impossible seeing as though lines go infinitely long and if it interects one plane, it intersects all those that are parallel to it as well. R was the only plane not to intersect

Yes, the ‘a’ coefficient should have been negative because gravity was acting on the ball

what was the last question ?

k here’s what i know so far…

first question was 123. with a number multiplied by its reciprocal and square.
the one with a circle and the triangle with the length of chord BC was about 15.3
the one asking how many times the graph intersected the x axis was 1 time.

i concur with all your answers

For #50 I got I and III. Yeah jansat I got the same as you I remembered. Where I had all the planes and lines intersecting and III had planes R parallel to only only other plane, M or P.
And yeah the circle with the triangle and chord was definitely 15.34. cosine rule

Does anyone have a definite answer to the quadratic regression question?

yeah i did
one question about x^2-24x+c or something and one zero is double the other or something, i got 16 as an answer.
what about the other question that said the graph had 3 real solutions, did you guys get E the picture of the graph that intersected 3 times?
and what about the physics one, i got E, for that also
