December 2012 - World History

One other quick question - there were a bunch of groups mentioned “Greeks” “Mongols” “Huns” “Persians” and some Indian ethnic groups and the question was where did all these groups inhabit… India? Greece? Rome?

OK. I’m kind of unsure about that question with the societies pre-500 AD. I was thinking it was the one that they would have more knowledge. Is that even an option? Or am I just thinking of the one with “recorded history”. Let me know, and I can decide properly.

I don’t know about the Tanzimat reforms one. Are you 100% sure it was religious divisiveness? I looked on Wikipedia, and they said that BEFORE the Tanzimat reforms, the non-Muslims were really discriminated against, but the Tanzimat reforms gave them, basically, equality. So I kind of think that choice is wrong.

I think the American colonial possessions one was Pacific Basin. That’s what I put. What was the exact date again? It all depends on the date:

[List of U.S. colonial possessions - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Territories of the United States - Wikipedia)

I omitted the one with the nomadic invaders. Absolutely no clue.

What was the question on unification of Germany, again?

I said India for that one.

@jimjim1717: Right before World War II, I believe was the date. (might’ve been WWI, don’t remember). I think it very well might’ve been South America, even though I’m pretty sure just about everybody was thinking Pacific basin.

@Rob1995: How could it have been in South America? According to the link that jimjim17 gave, there was only one country in South America (Columbia).

Which Chinese philosophy encouraged introspection?

German unification - All of the following were a result of the German unification of 1871 except?

Also did anybody else put India for the one about Greeks, Mongols, Huns and Indian ethnic groups? (see ? above)

@JacksonB15135: I was looking at Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama as well but you are probably right.

Chinese philosophy that encourages introspection is Taoism.

Also yeah, I put India.

@Rob1995: Yeah, I thought that for a second too, but Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama are all technically “Central America.”

German unification question?

Yea. I looked on wikipedia tho. I believe it’s pacific basin. If you look at the south american places, we owned like plots of land, not colonies.

You sure it’s south america?

I said Daoism
French third republic

What did you guys get for the Boris Yeltsin one? I had no clu. I’m still unsure.

Also, did gandhi hate all forms of industrialization?

I thought the spinning wheel was a symbol of nonviolence…

A spinning wheel can make cotton into cloth, it’s a symbol of how you don’t need factories: this was his opinion:

Why did Britain beat France in the race for India?

Britain was better at navy than france or Munghals liked Britain more and signed treaties with them

I said better navy… britain has always had a strong navy

Can you remember any more questions? I have 82

Did we ever figure out the question relating to Portugal and West Africa

@Jackson, can you post your list or PM me? I really would appreciate it. With regards to Portugal/West africa, I said the West Africans were eager to trade. You?

Mongols never invaded india. What were the other answers?

I thought the language before 500 question was too ambiguous. Anyone have a definite answer?

Also would love to hear about ghandis wheel

I thought this test was much much harder than the collegeboard practices. I unrstand its easier than barrons or hatever but still a lot harder from previous collegeboard tests. I wouldnt be surprised if there was a really nice curve on this one… Ive seen some wrong answers even on this post and that shows u that the test was pretty hard lol

I said eagr to trade was right. Another reeally tough question without a clear answer. Thank goodness for the curve.

Anyone know the last natives to come over question?
