December 2014 ACT Discussion Thread

@OrangeAndWhite‌ i got 1 point less than you in reading. I got a terrible composite too… Below average. I am so disappointed right now. I am shocked. Speechless.

Disappointed, but whatever!

English: 34
Math: 28
Reading: 33
Science 25 (what the hell!)

Composite: 30

I don’t want to be one of those people… but I am! The ACT does not predict success in my mind. I act AP Chem, Bio, Calculus, Stats… and my Math and Science scores are abysmal. I do terribly in English courses and can’t pass and AP English test to save my life. ACT is a joke.
Thankfully, their math section is pathetically predictable, so I’m sure that with studying I can get it up to a 33+

aghhhhhhhhh I think math was -2 = 35, -3 = 34, etc, etc.

ace*

ACT keeps kicking me out before giving me a score…

Anything for science? As I expected the reading curve was harsh, math somewhat generous, english pretty normal.

I don’t know if it was me, but this is the worst score i have ever gotten or seen anyone else get.

I believe science curve was rather generous and math was also generous as i think i got 12+ wrong and still a 28

English curve: Generous. I had to make semi-educated guesses on about 8, and I still got a 34.
Math curve: Very Generous. I filled in 10 random bubble, and I was unsure of a few of my answers, and I got a 28.
Reading curve: Average. I typically suck at reading, but I felt confident about this one. I filled out 4 random bubbles on the first passage. Got a 33.
Science curve: Harsh. Harsher than it should be, at least. My score went down! I think that this science was stupid honestly.

english - standard
math - more generous
reading - harsh
science - generous

Honestly though, I am just so upset with a 30. It’s a pathetic score! I was really hoping for University of Michigan or University of Florida, but I guess not.

@Tyler3418‌ stfu

@gminor‌ what? Hahaha

That’s a good score for UF though?

@Tyler3418‌ 30 is excellent for UofF and the average score of someone admitted to UMich, unless you have dog$hit grades

First try, got a 33…

E: 34
M: 32
R: 31
S: 36

Sorta pissed because I was 1 point off from getting a 34.

Also it’s funny because I usually do best on the math section… It’s what happens when you suddenly have to take a p i s s during the test :(

I’ll probably retake to for a 34+, but I’m worried I won’t score as well on English and Science next time

C35 yayayayayayayay

reading31 ouch
fingers crossed for a 10+ essay then im done

@thanksagain‌ I’m hoping it will be good enough to get in. I have a 4.4 weighted GPA (3.97 UW). I took every AP that my high school offers, ranked 1/210. I have decent ECs too (varsity sport all 4 years, many clubs, president of one of them, student director for theater program). I really hope that being decent (not great) in each of these 3 areas will be enough.

I got a 33 on this act. Pretty happy.
29 english
31 math
36 reading
35 science

@Tyler3418 a good amount of my class gets into UF every year with way worse stats than you. I think you’re good lol
