@andy276153
That’s right. The SAT doesn’t penalize for getting grid-in questions wrong.
@ItachiUchiha Could be wrong, but the answer choice was vivid RECENT images, but nowhere in the passage did it say that the images or memories had to be recent. Idk, I put similar experiences because I thought the purpose was to get the reader to understand what the author was going through. Again, I could absolutely be wrong here though.
What does the SAT do with experimental sections? Do they score them or not?
@cornellaspirant
Experimental sections aren’t scored.
@cornellaspirant Someone on this thread said that they use them to determine the curves of the test. Apparently, the curves are not based on how we did, but it is predetermined by the experimental sections? Idk, someone said that.
WILL MINUS 1 BE 800 FOR MATH?!?!?! i felt this was as hard as november Math and november had -1 800
@PartyNextDoor
The curve is not based on the experimental sections at all. Those are just there so that College Board can test out questions.
Wonderful. Good to know. Because I omitted 5 questions on what was clearly an experimental math section.
@TheEpic2401Man
I think -1 will be around 770. The math on today’s test was not as difficult as that on November’s test. However, this is just a prediction. Nobody knows what the curve will be until the results are released.
Was the section with “martinet…deviate” as one of the answers for the vocab experimental or did everyone have that?I don’t remember what passage(s) the section was paired with. The question was about the teacher who did things in a certain way if I remember correctly
for one of the first questions on the first math it said like something about square x or something and there was a y in the equation does anyone know the answers? and was the one ratio question 1:3?
@undergroundking
Yeah it was martinet, which means strict disciplinarian.
I got 3 no errors for ABCD no error. I got the directors one, the Colorado people are saying seeking should’ve been to seek or that seek and the one about octopuses. The answer to the pluto one i got “was discovered in 1930” The bus one is a simple word pair had-would have. Had she been late, she would have missed the bus.
@kdoran25
I believe the ratio question was 1:2.
was the bacteria section experimental?
perfunctory. mellifluous and extrovert were all correct answers somewhere in CR?
I didn’t take it today but I just wanted to wish all of you good luck in getting the scores you want. If it’s any encouragement, I thought my scores were much lower after taking the test than they actually were, and you might have a similar situation. Also remember that there is one remaining SAT exam after this, so take whatever mistakes you made as an opportunity to learn and improve for January. For your guys’ sake, I pray that the curve gods are generous this time around.
For the writing section was the question in the more than 80 years since… More than for the error?
@kdoran25
I got all of those too, can confirm on perfunctory and mellifluous.
i said in more than 80 years since it was discovered
