***December 2016 ACT Discussion Thread***

@tt8082 and @“slaytergal 12” yes! For the October test, my daughter got her scores on the first release date, but her status took much longer to change to tested compared to others that were posting on the Oct thread. I have heard others say their status changed literally right before the scores posted, so yes, still plenty of time.

I’m predicting a 27/28 for me

I’ve taken the test 7 times now, and my has status never changed until right before the first release of scores.

my status*

I didn’t even know about a “status” until reading other ppl on Reddit talk about it. But I’ve always gotten my scores on time, despite the status (I never payed attention to what it was)

@mathpro since you have taken the test 7 times, any tips for improvement and how has multiple testing helped with your scores? My daughter will be taking it multiple times as well. Will enjoy any advice you have to offer.

Tested in NY!!

Lets go!!

Tested in TX as of 11 AM! 3 more hours!

If mine says “tested” does that mean I will get my scores tommorow (the 20th)?

Scores Reported at 1AM if says “tested”? If so am going to sleep and will wake up at 1am lol

BTW tested in Texas too.

still registered CA

@sebastian007 Well, I try to take the exam twice a year. I’ve taken the ACT twice, once in June, once in December, since 8th grade year. I have always been strong in English and Math. My guidance counselor taught me how the English is very repetitive, and can be mastered with practice. The math section, especially recently, has become more specialized. I have noticed questions that are meant to distinguish students who are very good at math from those that are not, particularly probability and statistics questions. The math will likely continue to become more difficult with time, so, I recommend looking at more recent practice exams to become better at the math. Older exams are useful, but more recent exams show what to actually expect. Just like the rest of the sections, the math can be mastered with practice. Now, I have always struggled with the Reading and Science. That is, until this ACT. When I asked people how to improve in these sections, (while I was scoring in the low 30’s and high 20’s in them), they always told me to just practice with them. I never believed that was actually true. It just seemed too redundant to actually improve my scores in those sections. However, I took a practice test a day for two weeks in both Science and Reading, before this ACT test date. I found that I was able to recognize when I needed to go back to the passages to get the answers, and my timing became better and better with each practice test. My scores improved to the mid 30’s and higher in each section. So, when people say to practice for the Reading and Science sections, or for the entire exam, it really does help. Over time, I have steadily improved, but ultimately, you need to practice and become familiar with everything the test can possibly throw at you. Good luck to your daughter, and if you have any more questions, let me know!

Anyone have tested on the west coast yet?

@Ace5767 I’m wondering the same thing …
maybe West Coast people will have to wait longer for the status to change to “tested”

I’m in CA and have been tested since this morning @tt8082 @Ace5767

tested in california

When do scores come out

shouldn’t scores be out by now?
