I know many students got their USC honors college acceptance in December, and many of those same students are awaiting a Top Scholars decision but is there any correlation between those two? I read somewhere online that December acceptances to the honors college means you have a higher chance of getting top scholars but that source wasn’t really credible. Is there any truth to that at all though?
I don’t know if there is truth to it in general or not. Top Scholar invitations have gone out already, though. FWIW, my dd was accepted to Honors in December and was invited as a TS, but another poster said they were invited to TS but had not heard about their HC acceptance yet.
@Mom2aphysicsgeek not all of them have been sent out yet
@RobertoKarlos I am wondering if there is miscommunication about that. The letter states that invitees have until tomorrow to respond that they accept the invitation. If not, I am assuming that alternates will be invited. I am wondering if the suggestion that all have not been sent out is in terms of alternates.
@Mom2aphysicsgeek nope. to put it simply, not all of them have been sent out yet
@robertokarlos Have you been told specifically that 46 invitations have not been sent out?
Interesting. Did they share how many already had been sent out? I wonder why they made the decision to stagger notifications.
It might be so they can more easily find alternates. Something along the line of sending 10 to 15 invites 2 or 3 days apart. Who knows?
