December SAT scores

So i got my sat scores on tuesday and i'm not very sure if i did that well:

CR 570
M 590
W 630
Essay 9

CR+M: 1160
Composite: 1790

Now, none of the schools i'm applying to (NYU- Tisch(first choice), Fordham, Eugene Lang, CUNY-Hunter, NC State (in state), and another school i haven't decided yet) really take notice of the writing, NYU doesn't even take it into consideration, so that's why i noted the CR+M score.

so basically, is a 1790 a good score?

I'm a first time junior and i'll be taking the test again in May or June with Alg II under my belt by then. also, if anyone could be so kind as to give me a GOOD sat book, like Barron's 2400, etc, that would be great. Thanks in advance!

the Blue Book by collegeboard is absolutely AMAZING. I recommend you use it.

im pretty sure nyu is placing emphasis on the writing section this year. i'm under the impression that CR+M is far more important to them though. but a low writing score will certainly not help.

on the other hand, CUNY doesn't acknowledge writing

me thinks.
