I am currently a freshman and I'm picking my classes for sophomore year. I've asked my friends if they're taking WHAP and it seems like a 50/50 right now. I've researched online to see what the workload is for whap; most people say that it's rigorous, full of notes, and it chapters go by very fast. I'm okay with a lot of notes because I have had previous classes that required a lot of notes. However, I'm not a very good essay writer and I'm not sure if I can handle all the work/tests/studying/etc. Also, I've heard that the AP exam is not that difficult compared to the class itself.

I understand that it depends on how the teacher is, but is WHAP worth it in the end?

What should I do to help me prepare for WHAP?

Any other advice would be helpful as well.

(If you're wondering, I'm maintaining all A's in my classes except for a B+ which I will work to bring up before the school year comes to a close.)

thaaannkkksssss

Don’t waste your time about thinking about it, just take it. It’s not exactly hard, just considerably full of busy work.

As a current AP World student, I would have to say that it’s the reading that tends to be high, but it’s necessary honestly.

Let me also tell you this, AP History courses are kinda like a self study, most teachers just give lectures and give you work to do. Then it depends on whether you want to do it or not and studying. Example, last year (statistically) my teacher had evaluated that people who did study, and I mean actually going through and doing timed tests for the AP Exam, got a 4 or higher, people who didn’t and just looked at it at most didn’t even pass it.

So to put it short, it’s not hard, just some work. You’re gonna have to get critical reading and writing skills, you’ll see.

Yes it is worth it and do some hardcore studying, don’t overdo it though.

Do it. It’s pretty OK. I don’t think my teacher is really THAT rigorous. We do have notes due every week though, but we only do essays twice a tri. Next tri, my class is going to learn how to do the DBQ.
