Decision day Count Down

Historically 10/31 afternoon is 1st batch of decision.

But 10/31 is Sunday this year……..so may be midnight 0f 10/29 or 10/30.

Ladies & Gentleman, almost week to go!

Here is a best seller for freshman!

Michigan Wolverines Youth Navy Blue Automatic Hoody Sweatshirt

Go Blue!

They’re not going to be posted until December… Look on the UMich website! It used to say November, then last week they changed it and said that they are goign to send out admission decisions in december :/

Lets see :)

Historically release 1st batch “before” /after Halloween night.

My guess is Oct/30 Noon or Oct/29 Midnight.

one more week! Go Blue!

Undertaker,

Last year the ‘December’ date was told to me as well. Decisions actually came out on October 22nd. I don’t see why it shouldn’t be soon, the only thing that might delay it is that admissions now uses the Common App so more applicants.

Adam

It could be completely different this year with EA instead of rolling. Its possible all decisions are released on the same day if they do it like EA at most places. It’s not considered rolling this year which is a first so you have to think it will at least be a little different.

This year is completely different guys. They are going to look at every single application before sending admissions decisions. They will read every word, of every essay, of every EA application, before sending out decisions. The switch to the commonapp is going to increase the applicant pool INSANELY, and because of this we will be LUCKY to even receive a decision by December 1st. I love how all this happens on the year that I am applying to college umich :/

^^^
Did you want to share the source for your information/insight?

It’s common sense really. Common app = More applicant (because it’s easier to apply). And this year it is early action (they are going to look at all applicants first to make sure they pick the best class, this will improve their rankings even more).

^^^
Seems more like opinion than common sense. I appreciate you making it clear that you are guessing. Thank you.

I will almost guarantee you that decisions will start going out in November. Yes, applcation numbers will go up with the Common App, but not THAT much that they will wait until they read every line, every app before making ANY decisions. It says December on the website, but that is to stop the tsunami of calls that would bombard the admissions office in November from applicants asking when their decisions will go out: tell 'em December and keep 'em off your back. If you applied early, and your credentials are up to snuff, you could hear from UM in November. Now, and I speak with personal knowledge, that many apps that are “on the line” meeting the acceptance criteria will hear just before Christmas that they have been deferred, and you may be asked to send in fall term grades. If that is the case, you are then looking at a Feb/March/April decision.

Trust me, I hope you guys are all right. All I’m saying is that this year is much different. It’s early action this year. Hopefully we get back decisions in November, but there is a good chance that we are not going to. That’s all I’m really saying.

i went to an info session and they clearly said that THEY WILL BEGIN TO RELEASE DECISIONS IN THE BEGINNING OF NOVEMBER for those students who submitted their applications early.

Last year, they called it “Early Response”. No one ever said anything about rolling, not on the web site, not talks by admission officers. They always said apply by something like 11/1 and you will get a response by something like 12/23. But decisions started coming out in late October and every couple weeks after that.

Another poster is correct, the high admits heard very soon while many others waited and got deferred by late December.

Well, we will find out soon about this year.

1st batch Decision Day Prediction !!!

10/29 Friday tomorrow night

10/30 Saturday morning or night

10/31 Halloween. afternoon to mid night.

Go Blue!

Ahahah, I just applied on Tuesday. If I somehow get a decision by this weekend I’d be ecstatic lol.

Haha, I’m going to be antsy all this weekend, wondering if decisions are sent out already.

I doubt they’d have updated the site if they weren’t pushing it back.

Daughter already accepted at Penn State…anxiously awaiting #1 choice Michigan decision…other daughter got acceptance Friday, Halloween night, two years ago…and we’re all going to the Penn State/Michigan game this weekend…hoping and praying for decision before Saturday night’s game…checking online obsessively…Please let it be released tonight as in previous years!!!

Didn’t think it was gonna happen tonight. If the site says December, it’s gonna be December. Which sucks. But yeah.

i guess when we don’t have expectations we can’t be disappointed…easier said than done…wisconsin is also late this year…last year’s thread has acceptances starting 10/3 and this year no one yet…i now have an extra ticket for PSU/MICH game tomorrow…she’s not going…emotional rollercoaster, just wish they’d let us know one way or the other
