Does anyone know if the servers are able to handle everyone checking decisions at the same time? I have a pretty slow computer, so I was just wondering if there might be any problems loading the page.

if the page doesnt load i'm gonna flip lol

The most they'll get is 4000 individual hits at once, which should be nothing if Penn has a decent server. Plus, I highly doubt that every single person who applied ED will be checking their decision at exactly 5:00 PM. Just don't sit there refreshing the website over and over again...

You have to remember, JDP, that most applicants aren't obsessive CCers.

So they'll wait for it in the mail. The server won't crash.

VivaLaCollege I totally diagree.
No one will wait for the mail.
most people are obsessive and jumping out of their skin right now. If they aren't they probably applied to the wrong school.

depends on whether they've upgraded their servers over the years.

i remember when i checked my rd decision way back, took me 30 min - an hour to finally get the servers to respond (and i was with two other friends who were checking with me - fortunately we all got in and are all here)

My experience was similar to tene's. Everyone who applied ED will be checking it at exactly the same time (and the same goes for RD later). You'll get through within the hour - people will stop clicking refresh when they start to see their decision page, and then others will see theirs, and by 15 minutes or so you'll have no problem. Yeah, it sucks, but Penn's not going to go all Akamai just so you can see your decision 10 seconds sooner.

haha going all akamai

but yeah, patience is necessary, especially since i don't believe they send emails with decisions (penn didn't back then, but other schools did and do)
