^ I agree. At this point I think it best not to expect a decision prior RD decisions. Our impatience stems from an email response from my D’s Chapman admission counselor telling her that “Fall Grades Requested” students will receive their decisions well before RD, but I guess that time has come and gone :)

8pawsnfeet, my daughter was also rolled to RD with a request for fall grades. Her status changed to “decision reached” as of 3/9/13 (on a Saturday - strange?). Now the wait for the mail. Stressful!

My status was changed to decision reached on 3/4 and still haven’t been mailed anything, and I live 30 minutes away.

^Jacary…My D’s status never said rolled to RD it just said “Fall grades requested”. Did your status actually say “Rolled to RD”? Her status is still pending ?!?

8pawsnfeet, yes her status did change to “Fall Grades Requested” - then “File complete decision pending” and now “Decision Reached” Have you confirmed that they her Fall grades were received by Chapman? If you know for sure that her grades are there, then I would bet that her status will change this week. Good luck.

Hi Jacary, my daughter’s status also changed to “decision reached” on Saturday. Out of curiosity, did you try to go into the “student” portal of web advisor? I had heard that in the past years, checking to see if it allows you to pay a dorm deposit in that “student” menu could maybe be an early clue as to what the “decision” is. I’m curious if anyone has tried? I’m also curious if the status will change to “decision mailed”? Any thoughts?

Mine was reached on 3/4 and I called today. They told me they put it in the mail on Monday but won’t see that on line

^3cookie3 my D’s webadvisor ‘student’ section allows her to “make dorm deposit & enrollment deposit”. I am scared to death to click things thinking I’d jinx it. Also, she has a Chapman email addy–I don’t think that is an indicator for anything either.

I know the admissions folk reading CC must roll our eyes when we think these are hints. I am telling you since she applied in October the waiting has been sooooooo looooong!

If they were mailed Monday–then according to other OC parents mail from Chapman comes in 3-4 days.

I was told by the Undergraduate Admissions Dept at Chapman U today that all prospective students had this “make dorm deposit & enrollment deposit" link appear/added to their WebAdvisor. It is a glitch in the system that happened last year as well. It does not mean a student was or was not accepted.

Sukakilljoy you would think the majority of parents reading this site are of average intelligence, no? Playing the perpetual guessing game with “alleged back door” computer glitches is part of the fun, drama and anticipation as we wait for the letters to reach the mailbox. I’m really befuddled as to why you contacted a very busy admissions staff over something that NOBODY would count on as reliable source for being admitted or denied. Over the years on various college forums there have been so-called glitches, it’s like a magic 8 ball and just FUN. As a parent anxiously waiting, this has been a unique bonding experience with my D and we both read this thread and text one another and play around searching for clues like others have done in past years. The clues and hints are nothing more than killing time as we wait, since it is our turn this year.

Any white smoke rising from mailboxes today? People think waiting for a new Pope was intense…!

LOL Jacary!

If you follow there facebook page the acceptance letters have just been officially put in the mail! I live about 10 minutes away from Chapman so I’m hoping i get mine tomorrow Best of luck to everyone!

Yeah!! My acceptance package came today. I got in!

I live 20 minutes away so I was hoping I would get it today and I did.

I was accepted as a Chancellor Scholar. Now time to celebrate!

Good luck to those still waiting. Mine was mailed first class so sorry for those that have to wait a bit longer.

Saladbar - was your status Fall Grades Requested? or were you a Regular Decision applicant? Also, can you share your major?

I’ve been following this thread for a month or so. Congrats to those who were accepted and best of luck to those still waiting!

My D and I are anxiously waiting for the big envelope! I have two questions. Does a large envelope always mean “accepted”? I also noticed a button on webadvisor that I hadn’t notice before; “New Student Information”. Was this always there? We live in Carlsbad, so hopefully will find out Monday or Tuesday.

^LindaRue…I just noticed that link also and had the same thought as you. I guess we’ll know for sure when/if we get the envelope (the big one!!), but the way the link is written “On behalf of the Office of Orientation and First Year Programs, welcome to the Chapman University family. We are very excited for your arrival! Please use the links below to get a better understanding of what Chapman University’s Orientation is all about.” it sure sounds like a message that would only be accessible to admitted students. As one mother pointed out last week, all of this guessing and hypothesizing is part of the game, the only really answer will be in our mailboxes :)

@carolbrook - No I was regular decision. My major is Business.

@ LindaRue well it’s exciting waiting and hoping for a possible sign of being “in”. Lord knows how useless I was the week after we had the “decision reached” until the big white packet came in the mail. I spent so much time searching cc for clues. I checked the financial aid link Saturday morning (the 16th) and the award letter was up. Two hours later the envelope arrived so…who knows? It could have been a glitch in the system and everyone gets financial aid :-). As far as the link you referred to, I saw it too so not sure if it was an Easter egg or not. I just know the wave of acceptances will come this week for many of you. I wish everyone the best if luck. It’s great being a Panther mom!

“New Student Orientation” appeared in the portal. D says she’d rather wait for a letter for confirmation. She didn’t remember it being there before but she wasn’t paying attention to any links except those to make sure her file was complete. But gosh, I’m hoping you’re right that it pops up AFTER acceptance. The page is such a wonderful surprise for a nervous mom. Just praying it’s for Dodge.

Thank you all for that hint. we live way across the country and mail delivery may take a while.
