Decision Reached on Fall Grades Requested applicant

It came on Saturday to our delight, together with $20.000 Chancellor’s scholarship award
We live in OC so it’s not surprising it came on Saturday - they mailed the letters on Friday.
DD was admitted to BM in Vocal Performance and Chapman is one of her top choices.
We are still waiting to hear about her talent scholarship award (she was contacted by Department head and promised one) - that is suppose to come in a week or two I believe.
Good luck to all those that are waiting!

My daughter is in! BFA in Graphic Design. We are over-the-moon! Best of luck to those still waiting!

Hurray for Jacary’s Daughter!

My D is now trying to play the admit or deny guessing game with me based on clues from the portal. We can see the link to the New Student Orientation page, which really sounds like it should only be accessible to accepted students. This is what her page says…“Welcome new students to Chapman University. Please use the resources below to guide you through your first year with us…” We did not apply for financial aid so her financial aid page says “ERROR. You have no financial aid activity on record.” Does anyone whose child was accepted/denied/still waiting recall what these pages said for them? We are impatiently waiting for the official envelope in the mail.

@ Jacary my oldest daughter lived down the street from Chapman (she is a senior at UCI) and her 3 roommates all went to Chapman. One graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design and is working as a graphic artist in a PR firm and happy with her job! Its a good thing to know Chapman grads have jobs after.

Congrats to your daughter!

8Pawsnfeet we had the error message until Saturday.

^mommawhalie…Congrats on the acceptance for your child. RE: financial aid award…did you apply for fin aid, or was there a nice merit aid letter that popped up? We are still in the searching for clues mode. It is actually kind of a fun, and highly addictive, game that unfortunately (or fortunately) my D is now participating in with me.

My daughter played with me too–I was more KGB than she was. She applied for financial aid so they put a package together.

You moms seem like a lot of fun and I hope our girls find each other–LOL I can see the next game at orientation will be…guess who mommawhalies daughter is. My daughter even wrote a CC Haiku while waiting :-)

Daughters favorite animal in her app was a manatee–so that will be a hint.

Received the white package today for D which came with a merit scholarship offer. Still nothing on WebAdvisor for Financial Aid package. As far as the New Student Orientation option, I was hoping that was a clue too, but I realized that you can navigate your way there through normal Chapman website. Admittance to Chapman quite a relief, as we realized over the weekend that D never finalized her UC application for her only fallback, non-audition program.

Congratulations IcarusOnFire!!! very exciting times await and what a relief to not have to check the mailbox 5 times a day :-)

^mommawhalie…nice to know that are other CC addicts out there trying to beat the system and figure out admit decisions before the mailman knows. Funny…my D loves manatees, but her favorite animal on the app was the blue whale. On a thread from another one of my D’s colleges a poster (prob a kid, not a parent) said that there are no clues…we just have to wait for the official envelope or portal notification. That takes away all of the fun!!

Congrat IcarusOnFire and Jacary!

That is one game I am happy that is over. It felt as if I logged on to WebAdvisor a thousand times.

My D has been accepted to several schools that give her good options, and does not have a clear favorite, so right now we are still enjoying the “game”. It would be more stressful if she had a top choice. She just wants all of the schools to which she applied to accept her, but that already isn’t going to happen. She got the inevitable denial from one of her reaches, and life goes on…I do feel very badly for those kids who had dreams of getting in to their top choice only to find out that they didn’t. I hope they will be resilient and find happiness wherever they wind up.

Forgot to circle back and hear and report that S was admitted about a month ago, so there was hope for at least some of the students in this thread.

Thinking about Preview Day and other spring break revisits to at least the top 4 or so colleges to which he was accepted. Lots of great choices, he’s ready to be done, I think!

So who plans on definitely going to Preview Day on the 20th??? My daughter and I are coming… she was accepted into Dodge for Film Studies. She has had phone calls from several Dodge people in the last few weeks…even a professor. I am so impressed with their personal attention! Hope to meet many of you there!

My daughter and I are going. Dodge also. Working on flights now. :)
