what thread talks about the number of reminders and relation to admission/rejection?

It’s funny how everyone’s freaking out so much that almost any two unrelated things suddenly have a correlation :P

@soccerfan14, none, but I was curious to look at the trend, I went back the past 2 years discussion of email reminder and those who received them were all rejected.

I still haven’t gotten a reminder like the people did today.

no reminder since- accepted, one reminder since- waitlisted, two reminders since- rejected. After Thursday, I want to see if I am right. Maybe we should include reminder on the result thread. :-/

Solid idea.

Agreed, but I can’t think of a logical reason of why they would send out more reminders to the rejected…

@denverwa not sure where you’re seeing that. The thread I just read from last year had a lot of likely letter people receiving two emails

@pmsleepy, you were accepted ED last year. @equestriangir97,let us see if I am wrong comes Thursday. I feel that is how UPenn did it. let’s put email reminder in the result thread on Thursday.

Even if I was accepted ED the same process applies ED round. Honestly, I don’t think there’s a correlation between the two. Maybe it’s just the idea that when people are anxious and stressed, we tend to think every little notion or email has some importance in a school’s decision. Don’t sweat the little things. In the meantime try to get yourselves occupied with something other than decisions between now and Thursday. Also, quick note: some people will be getting personalized Penn postcards written by Penn students (I know because I’m part of a student group that organizes the event)! Let’s just say we’re very excited to welcome the incoming class of 2018! But seriously, try and preoccupy yourself with something other than decisions. Okay? Just breathe. It’ll be alright.

thanks pmsleepy, though I was almost happy as I did not get a second reminder – until just now. Damn it.

^ haha same. I don’t know - my counsellor recently called Penn for additional info and they took it. Maybe they just have a bunch of random lists that they’re going through based on things like when you applied.

Penn takes the most people from area out of all of the Ivies.

I just got a third reminder…eight hours after the second one…because I totally forgot about admissions coming out in that eight hour period. :P

@bond0072 I just got my second one like 15 minutes ago haha, same group I guess? :P

Okay now I’m getting worried cause I only got one, which was on the 23rd!

Really awkward, I got the second reminder 5 minutes after I posted this hahaha!

I’ve still only had one reminder, yesterday.

I have gotten two reminders, one on the 11th and one on the 23rd

I just noticed I said the 23rd.
This waiting is really messing with my brain!

But I got my first one at 4:23 on the 12th and the second one at 7:20 on the 24th.

@jzya95 maybe they should send you a third right now to make sure you’ve got the date correct

I think that the guessing based on reminders is stupid and pointless, but I have gotten two, one at 2AM on the 11th and one just before 1AM on the 23rd.

You all cannot read anything into these reminders. Just relax and enjoy the week. If yours is anything like mine, you will be hearing from several schools during the week. You all will get in somewhere you like and have a great experience, whether that is Penn or somewhere else.
