Which school did you apply?

If you mean what school within Penn, I applied to Wharton. While I have been accepted to 10 schools and am still waiting on 4, I have narrowed my list to 7 possibilities: Penn, Vanderbilt, Richmond (still waiting to hear from those three), Tulane, Miami, Alabama, and Kentucky.

Oh, I meant within Penn. I should have mentioned that.

Anyway, I also received my remiders at the very similiar time with you (1am, 12am), and I also applied Wharton. So I theorized that Penn sent their reminders by schools, regardless of decisions.

I applied to Wharton and received one reminder on the 11th of March and one last night

Daughter received 2. The first on the 11th and the 2nd on the 23rd. I wouldn’t read anything in to it. They know that most of the kids have multiple acceptances at this point and the email is a reminder to wait for Penn before you commit and instructions for those who might otherwise badger the office. Daughter is out of the country on a choir trip so I am instructed to login, find out and send her a viber message.

As a mom, I keep reminding her that Ivy’s select students like her, but may not select her. She visited Harvard and briefly considered applying there, but then decided she wanted an actual business school. I know quite a few students who were accepted in one Ivy and not another, for no particular rhyme or reason, so when you apply to just one, you can’t really get the feel of the randomness of it all.

I think of the process for high-achieving students as a sieve. You kids are the fine grain and the Ivy colleges and top Honors programs are the holes. You could fall through any one of the holes and not another.

I know that’s mom talk, but I hope you will take it to heart this week!

Hi I received a message from my regional director stating
“Thank you for your application updates. Please note our decision release is Thursday, March 27th at 5pm EST.”
Did anyone else receive this? I also got two generic email reminders like everyone else.

Yep finally got the second email you guys were talking about

I try not to be a Debby downer. But sending thank you for your application is not a good sign. It is a sign of consolation. If you will be accepted, they will not be sending any thank you s but congratulations. Sorry guys, I think UPenn sending too much email reminder to rejected applicants is not a good move to lift people hopes up then crash them.

@denverwa, haha I have to admit, your trolling is pretty funny. Try toning it down in the final week though; most applicants are already stressed enough.

But seriously what is the point in emailing me a second reminder at 8pm, and a third at 4am? Penn seems to really like reminding its applicants of the decision release dates. I got three reminder emails in Early Decision too.

Don’t Listen to @denverwa I received a likely letter from Penn and my reminder message says “Thank you for applying…”. The trolls.

Seriously @denverwa how can you look into these things? I don’t think there’s anything worth stressing on when email reminders are sent in. With so many applications, emails are sent in waves. First based on state, secondly based on region (or if you’re international). Third time who knows? Don’t look into it much. Chill.
