Hey everyone. I have a question about how Penn State admits their students. I applied mid November and Penn State received all my stuff by November 18th. I'm a borderline student with 3 recommendation letters, 200+ community service hours, and numerous extra curricular activities. I'd also say my personal statement was pretty good. My current dilemma right now is that all my peers with the same or lower stats as me are getting in and they applied significantly later than me. I'm fine with going either to University Park or Altoona. The problem is that if I want to go to Altoona, my parents will only send me if I get on campus housing which tends up run out during December. I want to go to the main campus, but if I don't, I'd be fine with Altoona. I just need to know if I got in before December ends so I can secure a spot in the dorms if I don't get main. I've also seen a good chunk of kids getting rejected from main to a branch. Anybody know why my application could be taking so long to review? And I don't really want to call the admissions office and tell them my situation because I feel like they would take that as "This student is fine with going to Altoona so we should send him there." Any advice?

Calling them to make them review your app faster is probably not the best idea
