I got into USC Marshall School of Business, UCSD (Intl Studies major), and UCI Merage School of Business. USC is definitely my top choice/best fit, but my finaid package wasn't that great (~40k a year)

I met with someone at the USC finaid office, and they looked over our documents and suggested that I appeal my finaid package, and I'm sending it in on Monday.

Any advice? I'm not going to UCSD for science, I've heard that Merage is quite selective... my parents kinda feel I should just go to UC, save some money for future expenses like grad school...

wait, you mean USC is giving you 40k a year? or you have to pay 40k a year ?
if the latter, then yea i understand you… im sure ucsd would be A LOT cheaper and maybe more worth it depending on the major… if its the first one, which i doubt, then i dont see what youre complaining about ? im an intl student, get 0 finaid, im paying it all out of pocket if i get in(have applied for transfer 09 )… sucks… but worth it imo… i think some of the great things about usc that would make it worth the extra money is that i hear USC has an amazing alumni network of people who are more than willing to help other trojans and with the help of that it is really a lot easier to secure a great job, which in turn will lead to more pay-pay off that money and will also increase your chances of getting in to a top notch grad school but i dont know, this is what ive heard i dont even go to usc yet so
also, i guess marshall is a very top business school, right ? im neuroscience, so i dont know… but i mean, a prestigious business school like that probably has big companies recruiting straight out of there ?

i guess both options have pros and cons… it would probably depend on whether youre gonna go to grad school directly or not… i dont know if this is correct, but isnt it true that for most good grad schools they want you to have job experience ?

well like i said, dont know much about the business majors but i hope i may have helped a little ? i would go with usc and be a proud trojan :D

just checked some rankings, and according to usnews and world report, USC ugrad business was 10th place in the country in 2007

according to businessweek, theyre 19 this year, i dont really know what they base it all on but yea… also ucsb was like 40 or something… quite a diff…
