Decisions... opinion please

Hi, well I just screwed up big time by not setting my alarm for the SAT II just to woke up 1 hour after doors close. Yeah worst excuse for missing it, I feel terrible and I am not proud of it. I wish I could take it in January but I think this is the last month possible. There goes my chance of UC's and wasted time of writing personal statements...

In spring I have to take Japanese 4 at another school so that I can at least get into CSU, or I can just go to a CC and transfer to UC just to relax this spring but I don't know anymore. I figure I was going to move out for college but is it really necessary if I'm going to CC? I really, really wanted to move out for next year too. Any opinions, advice, or tips? Is UC still possible?

that sucks bro .. if you truly want to go to those schools you will transfer

Is it possible for you to take the SAT IIs in January, and then apply to the UCs for spring semester of 2009?

the last date you can take sat's is in january. i had asked them this.

Really? Originally I signed up for January and was gonna take it in December and just pay for a test date change so if this is true...

University of California - Admissions

December SAT Reasoning Test and SAT Subject Tests (last date for fall 2008 freshman applicants to
take tests)

But according to that calendar, if you were to apply for winter/spring '09, you'd have until July/October. So unless I'm missing something, you could test later, apply for the second semester of next school year, and take a gap semester (take courses at CC or do something completely different for a few months).

You wouldn't be able to enroll at Berkeley, since they don't take new students for spring semester. But it would be a good way to get to any of the other UCs.

here's the exact email I got:
The application filing period for Fall 2008 is November 1-30, 2007. All
test scores are to be reported directly to the campuses applied to no
later than the January 2008 reporting period.

or never mind I don't know if the Jan scores would make it into that time frame?

The "January reporting period" is when scores from the December test are reported.

oh.. yeah. you were right. sorry for the hassle

Thanks for the help guys but I think I will just settle for California State University and maybe try for UC if I decide to go for my masters.
