Decision Letters for 2005 Freshman Applicants
Dear Stanford Applicants,

We plan to mail our regular review decision letters on Thursday afternoon, March 31, and expect that most letters will have reached their destinations by the end of the following week.

All decisions letters will be sent to the mailing address you provided on the Basic Information Form (Form 1) of the application. If you are currently at a different address, your decision letter will be waiting for you when you return to that address.

In an effort to allow the mail to arrive, we will not give admission decisions over the telephone until Thursday, April 7. While we understand that you are anxious to learn of your decision as quickly as possible, we ask that you wait for the mail to arrive and not call us until April 7.

Please understand that we do not give decisions over the phone to anyone but the applicant him- or herself.

Except in the case of students living outside the United States, we do not email decisions. We also do not make decisions available on our website.

Thank you for applying to Stanford and for your patience in awaiting our decisions. It has been an honor to read your thoughtful applications, learn of your accomplishments, and come to understand why you are so highly thought of by your counselors and teachers.

We wish each and every one of you the very best as you consider the many options that lie before you.

Sincerely,

The Office of Undergraduate Admission
Stanford University

~best of luck to everyone :)

yes.... likewise

our fates are going to be shipped out tomorrow. some by truck. others by plane.

theres nothing to do but wait. We'll have to wait and see which batch of letters makes it first in this amazing race.

I suppose now is as good a time as any to reiterate what I've heard so many times in the days leading up to the mailing dates of other colleges:

Getting into (insert college here) is not your ultimate goal in life. It is not a disaster if you don't get in. Your admissions decision is not your fate. Just applying to (insert college here) is a positive step, and shows that you are a promising student. Do not let a bunch of people who've never even met you influence your view of who you are and what you can do. Just because they do or don't want you in (insert college here) doesn't change you. Keep sight of that fact and you'll stay sane.

when precisely will they email us unfortunate internationals?

Damn...I was looking forward to paper...looks like Princeton will be my only regular mail decision :(
One more woe added to another seemingly endless list...online rejections are SOOOO cruel :(

thank you, ThinkDifferent. it's so easy to get lost in all these wishful thoughts of college apps these days.. i myself have had my share of temporary obsessions and they can pull a number on your self-esteem.. best of luck to everyone! :)

sucharita - you can't even burn an online rejection. Best you can do is feed it to your junk mail folder.

Good luck. It's Thursday morning here, but I probably won't get the e-mail until early tomorrow morning.

hmmm me neither...I'm in India so make that tomorrow afternoon.

I'm guessing us asians will get it by tmrw 4pm. Just a guess,no sources or anything.

Naw, we get it 5 am tommorow, if we go by EST. Something like 9am if they go by West Coast time. Good luck!

Good luck everyone!!!!!!

Do they Fed-ex acceptances to Internationals, or is it just by priority mail?

I think int'l ED acceptees can help..

When will I get the rejection letter if I live in Ohio? Saturday? (I hope it's not Monday)

Stanford is my only chance at staying in California.

I got axed by berkeley, demeaning my confidence for Stanford. I will prob be shocked if i get in

dude, dawgquelle, just cuz berk axed you doesn't mean stanford will. have a little faith. JHU is pretty cool.. :)

so... people in socal should get them by saturday?

that's what i'm thinking.. saturday.. but that would seriously screw the mood of my weekend.. haha jk..
