@NYmom11 early action
Thought I’d post mine. Got accepted a few days ago. Applied 10/31. In state.
Accepted
College of engineering - computer science
ACT: 25 (27 science 29 math)
GPA: 3.849
Rank: 26/262
Tons of ECs (Nhs, skills USA, music, varsity sports, etc.)
Ethnicity: Hispanic
Income bracket: $25000 and under
I took a ton of computer science courses at a local college and half way through my CCNA . I think that definitely helped me I’m excited
@nserda15 congrats man, im in the same program. see you there!
Found out today my daughter was deferred. 3.523 WGPA 3.39UWGPA 29 ACT not sure about class rank. Great essay, decent ec’s. I would not be surprised she would be deferred is she had applied Early Action but she didn’t get her application in until Dec. 1 so she should have been rolling admission. Is it possible they still considered her in the Early Action group?
If your daughter was deferred, I believe that means that she was counted as early action, but I’m not 100% sure @osuhopeful2940
Has anyone applying well after the early action period been accepted yet?
@MitchIsTheMan97 I am wondering this as well. I had everything except my teacher rec in before the deadline and the rec didn’t get in until over a month after the rest of the app. Yet I was accepted on Jan 9th, while there are others who had absolutely all of their material in before the deadline and they weren’t notified until as late as the 16th.
Applied 10/26 still no notification. I email OSU admissions but they haven’t replied yet. Should I be concerned?
@sed608 have you been checking online?
Rejected EA, offered spot at OSU Mansfield
Applied 10/31, scores received 11/11
GPA 3.1
ACT 23
Instae AA/NA male
I applied early action 10/31 and I’m still in evaluation. I have called
Multiple times and they have told
Me all of my materials are in and I just need to wait. I called last Friday and they told me they have been sending out decisions daily and that it could go a few days into this week. I think it’s very unfair that rolling action have gotten decisions before us.
julialeet Have you heard of Rolling Action getting decisions yet? My daughter, I thought, applied RA because she got all her stuff in late Nov. but she was deferred so I’m thinking they put her in EA, not RA. She did have her common app in in time for EA but she waited for ACT results and such in November and didn’t hurry thinking she was RA. I think they must have had her in EA in order for her to have been deferred but I haven’t called to find out yet. Going to do that tomorrow.
got denied a couple days back im oos 3.45 gpa (89.5) 1660 SAT
@osuhopeful2940 I called admissions a while back and heard that if your common app was in before the EA deadline, then you are automatically set to EA. Additionally, as long as her ACT results got to OSU before they actually review her application, they would be applied automatically and it would still be EA.
@julialeet I haven’t heard of any rolling admissions getting notifications yet. Do you know one personally?
@Redjericho Yes! I even emailed admissions and they just sent me a basic email back. Its past Mid January I may have to just call them.
Accepted this afternoon!(finally) It seems today may be the last day for EA, not sure though.
Stats -
In-state
ACT: 31
Weighted GPA: 3.765
Medium amount of EC’s, probably could have had more, to be honest.
Lots of AP and IB courses (9 AP and 2 IB over 4 years)
Both of my parents work for Ohio State so that may have had a role in it.
Good luck to everyone else out there still waiting, I hope you get accepted.
Ok OSU clearly favors Ohio residents. I got denied EA with a 3.40 at a tough private school and an ACT of 28. I guess you have to be way above the college naviance requirements of a 3.10 and a 25 on the ACT
If you were in state bud you would have been admitted. I had a 3.40 and a 28 ACT and got denied and I’m out of state
@wgeller don’t feel bad. I’m OOS and was accepted EA but only into Science & Tech Exploration instead of Pre-Eng (CS) and I have a 3.8GPA, 33 ACT, 9 AP classes (at a top rated school), great essay & extracurr. It will all work out…
