Declined to Summer Programs

Hello everyone, I decided to make a CollegeConfidential account after all of the help that I have received on the forum. I have signed up for quite a few summer programs for the upcoming summer, these programs being MIT’s MITes and WTP program, the Summer Science Program (SSP) for astronomy, a journalism camp at the University of Minnesota, and Carnegie Mellon’s Summer Program for Diversity (SAMS). It was devastating to find out that I had been rejected to four out of five of these programs, one that I am still waiting for a response for. I didn’t take the news lightly when I found out today that I had been rejected (not even waitlisted) for MIT’s Women’s Technology Program, which I had yearned to get admitted into.
The negative feedback that I have been receiving from these summer programs has me worried about college admissions for when I apply to colleges next fall, especially since my resume will now have no summer programs or other enrichment that would reinforce it. Are there any summer programs out there that are still available for admissions? I would really like to get into at least one more summer program before I begin my senior year of high school, since it will not only be an opportunity to get to compete with those of similar rigor, but it will also allow me to bulk up my developing resume.
Also, are there any tips that anyone may have involving the application process? I feel like there is something that these summer program admissions people are not liking about my application.

You can always try to get a job. As longs as colleges know that you’re doing something worthwile during the summer you should be fine.
