Deerfield Academy Applicants 2014!

I decided to make a thread that all of of deerfield applicants can talk on.

I hope that you are my future classmate!

I am also applying to Deerfield, but for eleventh grade.

Me too for 9th grade

Applied for 9th grade.

btw, how long did you guys make the personal essay? Mine was 800 words (around 5000 characters)

I have applied for 10th grade. I am very excited to see what will happen!

I was going to apply here, but I didn’t really connect with it when I visited. Too gloomy and a little desolate to me. But then I visited on a rainy dat so that coulda been it.

Good luck guys.

crushedice99- Mee too for 10th!!!
abcd42- I made my 1000 words and about 7000 characters

Mine was ~500 words. It was random. It was spontaneous. It was me.

I applied as a repeat sophomore for athletic purposes.

My personal essay was quite long… :stuck_out_tongue: i did it like 2000 words or something… poor AO-s they will have to read my novel XD

I’m applying as a sophomore also @crushedice99, @funnygirl1200 and @Andrewjshea21… my essay was pretty long like 2300 words. I filled my essay with a lot of personal stories to try and connect with admissions what about y’all?

Mine was around 1600 words. I answered the prompt and wrote a bit more. I tried writing as if I was talking to the counselor personally, face-to-face

Okay, you guys are making me feel like my essay was way too short…

Really i think the most important part of the essay is just getting your point across. Length really doesn’t matter if you write a good essay

They even say in the prompt “What you say in the essay is more important than length” or something similar to that. Their new website looks great. So much better than the old one

Applying for 9th
mine was around 1000 words

Im applying to deerfield for my junior year! I’m really nervous though, I’m pretty sure they only accept 20 new students in junior year :frowning:

@potentialboarder Good Luck! Hopefully I’ll see you next year at Deerfield

Applying as a sophomore and apparently this year the girl sophomore class is an unusually large amount!!! :frowning:
