defer enrollement to University?

Hello,

First time freshman.

I’ve been accepted to a university about 2 hours away. I want to defer my enrollment, and pay the enrollment deposit a semester later to apply to another university much closer to see if I will be able to get in. If I do get accepted to the closer school will I be able to comit? Or if I pay the enrollment deposit to the other university it means I committed to them?

Deposit isn’t a commitment & you can still back out, although that $ may be non-refundable.

See if the university you just got accepted to allows enrollment deferrals. Not all colleges do.
