Defer for a year if accepted from waitlist?

<p>I've been waitlisted at UR and am interested in taking a gap year next year to work and go abroad for a few months. Does anyone know if I can apply for a deferral if I am accepted off the waitlist or if the waitlist offer is only extended to this fall?</p>

<p>In the past, we have granted deferrals to students who came off our wait list. I expect we would have the same posture this year although every deferral is granted on a case-by-case basis.</p>
