Deferment = ?

I am deferred. As an international needing aid, does this mean that I am qualified enough to get into a decent school regular? Does this mean that I have a decent chance at schools like Williams, Dartmouth or Colgate or Oberlin (on almost full aid)?

I hope this question is not stupid.. but I am really lost now..

Williams is need-blind for internationals.
I think you would have a great shot there (I saw your previous posts)

Jhl, we're in the same situation :) I'm actually only glad I wasn't rejected. Do you plan to send extra information?

Hmm.. I dunno what to send.. maybe some photography works? I ain't sure.. you?..

I was glad too to not be rejected.. but it was still a bitter disappointment..

lami.. thanks.. congrats to you..

I'm an international needing aid who has been deferred as well :-(

I wonder how many internationals were accepted on aid..

Does anyone know the acceptance stats for those who have been deferred in RD? Mainly I just wanna know if being deferred will help me in any way come RD (especially this year when Harvard and Princeton screwed everything up).

mourad, the only consolation that we can get from the deferment is we still have some reasons to hang around this board.. haha

^LOL. International needing aid deferred also. Canadian tho, aren't we need blind? :S

Another consolation: Columbia may not suit me.. Yea yea Sour grapes.. but.. haha

Maybe they considered that it was too early to admit international students needing aid knowing that so many outstanding American students needing aid as well will apply RD ...

Am I allowed to apply ED2 to another college (deferred)?

Yes--you are free to apply ED to another school. You are now treated as though you are a RD applicant for Columbia's purposes.

Best of luck!
