Deferral Outcomes

I am trying to write a letter of continued interest to my local admissions counselor but I am worried it doesn’t sound professional enough. Would someone be so kind as to post one or an example of one because I am really struggling and Michigan is like my first choice.

My daughter’s stated that she had sent the previous term’s grades as requested, and she followed it with a sentence stating that it was her first choice and she would attend if accepted. Then she said thank you for continued consideration.

Three sentences total for the note.

She was accepted Friday.

Alright just sent one. Thanks for your help

I got a response from the letter and it had a very good tone. Hopefully that means something good

how long ago did you send the letter

and if you dont mind what did it say?

Do more decisions come out this Friday?

they dont say, we have to wait till this friday to find out

To anyone that sent a letter of continued interest, where did you send it?

The regional admissions person

My Email

I am writing this email in regards to my admissions outcome during the Early Action deadline; I was deferred. Aside from sending my mid-year transcripts, which should already have been received, would sending a copy of my SAT II Subject Test scores in Math II and U.S. History be beneficial: Math II was a 750 and U.S. History was a 710. University of Michigan is my first choice and if gifted the opportunity to attend I would matriculate. Thank you for the continued consideration in my admission decisions and your time.

Her Email

Thank you for your email and continued interest in the University of Michigan. I made sure to note your interest on your application so it can be considered as we make our final decisions. I would suggest only sending in your mid-year transcripts at this point, as our evaluation becomes more academic for deferred students in Regular Decision, and your strong test scores only reiterate their strength. I’ll have your email added to your application file as well, so that anyone who evaluates it will see what you shared.

Best wishes,

GO BLUE!
