I'm not sure if anyone would have knowledge of this, but do you think GT compares grades of students who attended the same high school?

One of my best friends was accepted EA and he was more consistent in high school than I was (I decided to get my act together Junior + Senior year). I know for a fact that my mid year grades in AP Calc BC, AP Physics C, and AP Computer Science A were as good as or better than his were (I got all As). Is this something they would definitely look at? I know my mid year grades definitely helped my case for admission, but I guess I'm just growing increasingly nervous as the notification date approaches. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Your Calc and Physics grades were better (trust me…) and I think your chances are very good considering there are very few students that will already have two years of calculus under their belt by the time they go off to college. Some college students (GT included) I have talked to have purposefully not taken AP Calc credit so that they could get an extra year of it and really have a solid base understanding of the subject. You will already have that right out of the gate; something admissions will really like to see to be sure.

I also don’t think that colleges really compare two students within schools and pick one or the other, but they probably will look at you and compare against the whole class (i.e. percentiles and rank). It’s something I’ve been worried about too at a few places I’ve applied.
