UGA and GT questions

I had some questions and concerns regarding application difficulty for UGA and GT.

  1. would it hurt if I have a 4.0 gpa but all my A’s were low A’s(90,91,92) or is an A an A
  2. second would I be good to go with a 32 on the ACT.
  3. does it matter if I have high or low A’s?
    Thanks so much
GO DAWGS or hopefully GO JACKETS

I’m guessing that you will be fine. Generally an A is an A. How “rigorous” is your schedule? Your ACT score should be great for UGA and is right in the middle of GT ACT scores. Also, are you in state? That makes a huge difference. Overall your stats are great and should give you a good chance for both schools. Then again the admissions process is anyone’s guess. good luck.

I am in state and I took 10 AP classes and rest honors would that make uga a safety?

@UGAXCHOPE
you are a Match for both. No UGA is not a safety however.

what would be my chances of getting into one of them?

My child got into both with fairly similiar grades. What math and science classes did you take.

I took calculus BC as a sophomore
GT Calc and linear algebra as a junior and am taking Applied Combinatorics and Differental equations currently
I took for science
AP physics 1 and AP physics 2 HONORS BIO AND HONORS CHEM

While none of us can say for certain, you already know you are likely to get into both schools.

only thing that concearns me is the fact that my A’s were not high a’s
my weighted gpa was a 99 but my unweighted gpa was only a 92

My child is there with a few b’s on transcript with a higher ACT and unique experiences. Chill. An A is an A.

Okay thanks so much! really appreciate the feedback!
I do in fact have a good amount of EC’s
thank you very much for your help!

Hi UGAXCHOPE
I saw in ur post the you have gt calc and linear algebra.please suggest how to do good on these course(any website, extra help material, any tutoring place).

I personally didn’t do any tutoring but found that my library offered free tutoring from college kids. I got someone currently at Georgia tech to assist in teaching me the calculus portion. I thought the linear algebra part was quite easy but the calc part was difficult. I would recommend reaching out to your prof and asking that specific question as I did.
