How long does it usually take for Pitt to reconsider and respond after we send the grades?
…
Last year it only took a week or so before my son received a decision. Was very quick. He submitted higher SAT scores as well in December.
Once we have received and processed the new information, we try to turn it around as quickly as possible. A conservative estimate would be 2-3 weeks.
Good luck!

Thank you! That’s encouraging. What will the Status Page say when the decision is made?
@WhenOthers, We do not post admissions decisions in the portal. Look for an email/letter from us!

So decisions for students who were asked to send mid year grades only come through an email?
We send letters for every decision. Depending on the decision, we may also send an email. So just keep an eye on your inbox and your mailbox. Best of luck!

@hailtopitt1787 how likely is admission for kids who have been asked to send in mid year grades if the same standard of performance or better is met?
It’s hard to predict! It really depends on the application as a whole. Best of luck!

I sent in my first semester grades a more than a month ago. Should I expect a decision soon?
Yes, you should hear back from us soon!
@hailtopitt1787 after I was asked for my first semester grades, I updated my self-reported academic record, sent in my first semester transcript, and emailed the office of admissions and financial aid to tell them I had done so. This was a little over a week ago, should I be expecting a decision soon? Also, is it true that you only send letters of denial and not emails? Thanks
@Koyfish1, I can’t tell you an exact time. I would give you a conservative estimate - you might hear back in the next two weeks or so (it could be sooner, but it’s hard to generalize).
We send letters for every admissions decision. Those who are admitted will receive an email first, followed by a letter.

@hailtopitt1787 I just called the admissions office to confirm that they got my first semester grades, and the admissions person said that they got them and that a letter with their decision was on its way. I haven’t gotten an email, does this mean that I didn’t get in? thanks
@koyfish1, I would recommend waiting to see what you get rather than guessing. That is a common response, just letting you know you will hear from us soon. Best of luck!
