Let me know what you think!

Assuming you applied to LSA, I think you have a shot! Are you from a more rural area of Michigan? If so that could be in your favor. They want to expand and pull in students from all over the state.

I agree with 99blue. A 3.9 unweighed GPA with a a half dozen APs and in-state status means you have a reasonable shot. If your ACT were a little higher (like a 29 or 30), I would have said target, but as it is, I would say slight reach.

@96blue‌ @Alexandre‌ (not trying to hijack your thread @mmkkbbbbkkmm‌ )

Is coming from a rural area help if you are OOS as well(Ohio)? My school is extremely small and I don’t know if anyone has ever even applied to a large university. A large majority of the people are low-income (including my family), so that might be part of the reason why most don’t go to college. But I have similar stats as well (28 ACT and 3.83 GPA). I’m currently in the only AP class my school has ( Comp and Lit ), and my school has minimal clubs and virtually no opportunities to specialize in a specific field. I would say I’m loaded with the ECs that were offered. I applied RD back in November and am worried about my low ACT score.

@uofmPlease‌ I don’t know honestly. OOS is a whole different thing from everything I’ve heard / read the OOS expectations are higher. This year’s admission cycle has seemed different and it’s hard to draw some comparisons. Good luck!

Thank you @96blue‌ !!

Okay Thanks! I am from a somewhat urban area, and big high school. But it’s ranked as one of the top in michigan

If you got a uwGPA of 3.9 with 7 APs from a top high school in state, then your ACT is clearly out of the line. You should have retaken it. If you have a couple higher points in ACT, you would have a decent chance.
