Deferred, Chance Me?

Just got deferred to the regular applicant pool. :( Here are my stats. Chance me for regular admission?

Out of state- Texas

Very competitive private school

GPA 3.22 (school doesn't weight), my UGA GPA is a 3.0

ACT 31 (super scored I have a 32 composite)

4 AP Classes (US History, European History, Statistics, Studio Art)

My resume is pretty impressive- I don't want to put it all on here

Teacher recs are very good

Essays are all good

Sorry for the vagueness.. Thanks!!!

There is nothing wrong with being deferred! Half of the accepted applicants come out of the regular pool. It is also a great opportunity to showcase your ECs.
Unfortunately, your GPA is pretty low as well as your rigor. How many APs does your schools offer? 4/7 would look more impressive than 4/15 APs offered. Also, your AP classes are what many would call “light APs” or, not as academically challenging in comparison to APs like AP Chem or AP Calc.
A redeeming factor which probably kept you from being denied (in all honesty) was probably your excellent ACT score.
There isn’t much else you can do in regards to GPA. Just finish off this semester with great grades to show a bit of an upward trend. If you want, you can also retake the ACT to get an even higher score.

thanks, camover

Do you think I have time to retake the ACT to get a higher score (i’ve already retaken it three times)?

Yep! UGA takes ACT scores of the ACT taken up to January. So as long as one is scheduled between now and February, it counts.
And UGA superscores so it doesn’t matter how many times you take it, just send in your best ACT sittings.

The GPA is pretty low. Ive known people the have gone to private schools with 3.7 GPA’s that have gotten denied. But UGA likes to see people finish out strong so keep your grades up and hope for the best!

Sorry, I think your GPA is too low : (
