Haha, I’m just hoping to be waitlisted instead of rejected!

Holly crap I just got into Caltech

tears of joy

^^ Congrats!

I did nothing to bolster my application. Yay!

The only update I added to my application was that I was Student of the Month. Well, I might have noted a couple of other things, like certain competition tests I was taking, but nothing major.

I wish I actually had a good joke to tell.

everything good I did was after i submitted my updates

MIT>Caltech!

:D

GOO LUCK TO ALL!!! We will be busy all day with my D sports. Hopefully this will keep me busy and less nervous. :)

To lighten the mood, I’ll post the joke that I submitted on my midyear report [of my own creation!]:

[The joke being that Scandinavia, which the northern-Europe guy is looking at, is a homophone for scanned-in-avia, which the birdwatcher is looking at.] :D

^That joke was awful.

You know a joke’s not good when you have to explain it lol

Or maybe it’s just deeper and richer :o

Or not. :D

Wow, that joke took me way too long to understand.

Did you put the explanation in your midyear report too? I’m just wondering.

Of course I did. Maybe it translates better verbally, because everyone I told got it in about 5 seconds. :(

you might have to be a birdwatcher to get it though - I certainly didn’t. O.O

:] I however have a great fondness for awful jokes, so I enjoyed it. :)

The only birdwatching knowledge required is that the Audobon catalog is about birds, and that the word “avia” also refers to birds. Is this not as common as I thought? :|

Perhaps MIT admissions will have pity on me.

Lmao Heinochus that was the best thing ever. The absolute absurdity of the joke made me happy. Thanks.

well, maybe it’s just me. I still liked the joke. :)

speaking of which, if anyone needs help being distracted, y’all should try the Sporcle - Hamsika linked to it in her Distractions blog and I’m addicted (and not studying for my tests tomorrow like I should)
