Deferred Letter "Deadline"?

My GC gave me a brilliant suggestion of something to send to Yale, and I've only just gotten everything all ready to send out--"still my top choice" letter & a few other things, that is. Planning on mailing it tomorrow and paying an exorbitant amount of money for it to get there ASAP. Think it's still okay to send stuff in? I've heard a few different accounts, some people saying that Yale doesn't even start reviewing stuff until mid-late February after interviews are all done and what-not, but I don't know if it's different for deferred students.

Can anyone help me out? Should I call admissions or something just in case, or just send everything and hope they'll take it?

I'd send it. Chances are they'll say no if you ask, but read it if you send it. Can't hurt, IMHO.

Mmrrghh... there's one other thing I'd like to send. Slash, get together to send tomorrow, and have at the post office for next-day-delivery on Wednesday. Probably too late, right? Or might I still have time if the deadline for interview reports is rumored to be Feb. 15 or even later in February? Do they read deferred applications first?

is a bit panicky

Don't worry.. the worst thing that'll happen is that they won't read the letter.

The better scenario is that the updates (hopefully they're meaningful, not just superficial) keep bringing your application to their attention and perhaps it could help your chances.

Definitely send. More attention is not bad attention. If they don't want you, nothing will help, but we're talking about a candidate who could go either way.
