I'm an ea deferree, and I have an update written to send to yale about what I've been up to since I submitted my application. The problem is, I've been so busy with all the things I've been doing since I submitted my application that I haven't had a chance to finish proofreading it and send it out yet. Do you think it's too late?

Na. Just finish and send ASAP. They'll read it.

tkm256, do you think they will consider an additional recommendation? A journalism professor I had for a summer workshop wrote me this awesome recommendation for a scholarship, and I thought, "Hey, this will probably be very valuable to the admissions committee." So...I just e-mailed her to send the letter to my 11 colleges. It won't get there until late this week...I still need to send me envelopes, postage stamps, etc. Is this too late? Will the letter even be considered?

Might as well give it a shot. There's no supernatural forcefield around the files as far as I know...as things arrive, they're shoved in the appropriate place, and the adcoms just grab and read.

Haha, you never know with Yale...there is such a rich amount of brain biomass there that perhaps there could be supernatural forcefields protecting the applicant files.

what do u mean by an update?like an additional recommendation or a prize u won at a national essay contest in late spring??? \and isnt it ture that more the papers, the more exasperated they become with ur file since it takes time away from other applications?

No, that's not true, unless the stuff you send them is total junk.

I have a few friends working as admissions officers this year. Send them only the important stuff. They don't want to read a novel. Just get it out as quick as possible, and I'm sure you'll be fine.

Yale08, wow, are your an ad officer yourself? You have "a few" friends? That's a lot.
