Deferred Times Three - sad and overwhelmed

Congratulations! I hear lots of great things about Seattle U, and scholarship money is a beautiful thing.

I’m worried about the EA jump, too. One of my D’s top-three schools, to which she applied EA, is Dickinson, and apparently its EA apps are up 40% this year. And that is not unusual. I guess they’re all flooded. So any acceptances this early are causes for celebration. (My D got her first, to Clark, so there’s happiness in our house.)

Very interesting statistics in this article - they seem to be adding more frequently so check back if your school is not listed yet…

Congratulations on your DD’s acceptance into Seattle U-- I’m really happy for you! Excellent school!!

Does anyone know what percentage of deferrals are accepted? Is there a general percentage or is it school specific?

Yeah!

I knew Seattle would accept her!

What a great feeling!

You should definitely check out Fairfield in Connecticut. Only about an hour’s train ride from New York City and Fairfield itself looked like a charming little town, right on the water. We stopped in there with no thought of really being interested and were quite impressed. Clark is also a very good school and it is in a pretty big city (Worcester, Mass.). What about Wheaton in Massachusetts? Not in a big city but not too far, either.

The author appears to be updating it periodically as schools give her data.

SCU told her 1/3 are eventually accepted, and Northeastern said 1/5. She is pretty hyped about Seattle - we are visiting in a few weeks. Hopefully not a letdown. It is the only school we have researched with students universally raving about it. For other posters info, we were unaware when we applied that they have automatic scholarships on admission based on GPA and SATs. The student that I spoke with said that she and both her fresh/soph roommates had been accepted at Ivies, but chose SU because their aide was automatic and excellent. I believe the highest SATs and GPAs get 16K a year without an additional application or essay! Nice chunk of change, especially across 4 years!

Seattle, great choice! D’s friend goes there, loves it, has made the adjustment, as she is an East Coast girl. She also got great merit aid.
