Deferred Tulane/what about merit awards?

I was recently deferred from Tulane, but I applied for DHS and the Paul Tulane award- could a strong application for both these scholarships help with admission?

Me too!! I’m shocked I was deferred and heartbroken…I hope applying for these helps

This might be a better thread to post this- I was deferred from Tulane as an EA applicant. 4.0 GPA, 32 ACT, ton of extracurriculars and leadership roles, summer job, good recs. Is it possible that my application to the Paul Tulane award, if the admissions counselors like it, can cause my deferred status to change into an acceptance or is this unheard of? Thanks!

As far as I have understood I was deferred because I was not able to pay the school fees unless I won the DHS or PT. This might be the case with you. If so, you still got a chance to be accepted.

My son was deferred EA back in December and found out last week that he was accepted with $19K/yr of merit aid.

Not sure how you would be deferred for simply not being able to pay. I will only attend TU if I got DHS as well, but I got accepted EA with $30k a year. @d00rmanjack

@purplecattt my daughter’s AC said this is possible. And, in another forum someone told me this happened to a student in her school. Good luck!
