So I’m still confused what we do when the new decisions come out of it already says “view decision” on our account
@Orl520 I think you’re wrong. They weren’t looking at any RD when they released this time last year. I think they just let in a few of the top deferred kids. They had three extra days last year, not enough time to look at RD.
i applied EA and never got a “View Decision” tab
@ILM822 From reading last year’s thread, it would just update with the new decision!
i got a view decision tab in december
@tomato17 You applied by Nov. 1? If so, did you receive an email to set up your portal?
do you guys think maybe they could come out during the day? Like 3-4 ish maybe?
@DreamforIvy yep and I got the deferral email saying that they needed 7th semester grades. but nothing ever changed on WA
anythings possible and from the ea stuff this year it will just happen randomly no point in constant speculation
Can we all agree that Michigan has been absolutely terrible to their applicants this year?
@tomato17 Hmmm… that’s weird lol so you got a deferral email and not a portal update?
@DreamforIvy ya. I mean i guess they never really gave me a decision. They didn’t ever officially say that i was deferred
@nasoth We really don’t know. Three days is enough time to determine the average stats for the RD applicant pool. Why would they make deferred applicants wait till February if they didn’t factor the RD pool into the EA decisions?
@tomato17 Oh, yeah… That’s strange and you should contact them!
I just wanted to point out that for anyone who thinks admissions is “not doing their job” or is “terrible” or “unfair,” literally all they have told us is that EA applicants would get their decisions by Dec 24 (which they did) and that RD applicants would get their’s by April (which it currently is not yet.) So, so far this year, they haven’t misled us to thinking anything that hasn’t happened, as it is not their fault if we speculate on what’s going to happen based on past experience and then they don’t follow through with our predictions.
They do not play Notre Dame next year but they do in 2018-19 and 2019-20
@AnnArborOrBust - Amen man. The incessant whining around here is unbelievable. They’ll tell you when they tell you. No deadlines have been ignored. Do people really think they’re just sitting around in an office wondering how badly they can treat applicants? Yet another result of the Instant Gratification mentality that exists in so many people now. Here’s a thought. If you think Michigan is treating you so badly in this process, why on earth would you want to go to a place like that?
Relax. The applicants this year are not at fault as last year it came out like this only. If we go through last yrs threads thr was no intimation from UM but results came out for a good bunch of ppl on first friday of feb midnight…IS OOS and intrnational. So it is but obvious that the expectation will be thr for this yr too… when thr is expectation thr is fraustration and when ppl are awake uptill midnight and dont get any thing then its obvious they will rect. All of us are future clsssmtes somehwr…lets be empathetic to each other.
Hey guys, is there still a chance for us to hear back from umich today? I got the response of “advocate for admission” and “strong candidate for consideration”. Really love Michigan!
Actually admissions is doing exactly what they said they would do. When decisions are released one year does not create an implied contract with the following year applicants. They need to live up to the dates they published…and they have done that.
