Although Uchicago was my #1 choice, I was first deferred from early admission... Then waitlisted earlier today... I know that Uchicago's waitlist is unranked. Does anyone know what the chances are/ how many on average Uchicago accepts from their waitlist? Also, is there anything specific that I should do to get off the waitlist? Lastly, Does Uchicago release waitlist decisions in May, or on a rolling basis?

Thank You

Last year they accepted no one off the waitlist, due to too many accepted students attending. In the year prior, I believe 70 came off the waitlist. Last year on the admissions blog they posted info about accepting waitlist, so maybe they will do the same in a few days.

0 and 70? Sounds basically like a rejection :(

Focus on the schools that accepted you. My S was deferred/waitlisted by his initial “dream school” too, and accepted to UChicago. Turns out to be a great place for him. You will find your own great place! Good luck.

I stand corrected, 15 were admitted in mid-April last year from the waitlist.
