Deferred

I was interviewed in Feb. and was told I was being recommended for admission. BUT, later I got a letter in the mail saying I was deferred. I have heard nothing since. What is going on? Why was told I got in and then now I’m not? I need to now soon because I’m graduating in a month and need to make plans.

Hi @Atomic73 – can you give us some more info? There are a lot of bright, connected, and well-informed people on this board and I’m sure they’d love to be able to help. The more information you can provide, the better.

First – this was for an acting/MT/theatre program?
Second - was it a B.A. or BFA?
Third – you say you were interviewed. Was it an interview or an audition?
Fourth - if it was an interview, was it for directing? Or theatre tech?
Fifth - Can you tell us what school it was for?
Sixth - Deferral usually means that if you applied “early action” or “early decision” that the school is putting you into the “regular admission” pool. So it’s possible that you were deferred to that “regular” pool, and that the school hasn’t released their official admission letters yet. It’s hard to know.

So the more info you can give us, the more we can try and help figure out what’s going on for you. Cool?
