<p>I can't find any information from the Northwestern website about deferring. I'm going to call the school tomorrow, but I just wanted to check to see if anyone here knew how I am supposed to go about doing it. I have a reputable program all set up, so there shouldn't be an issue of them thinking I'm just going to be sitting around for a year...</p>

<p>you can defer. you just have to write them a letter requesting it and explaining briefly why. but it is on condition that you dont ask for any credit for what you do next year...
what are you planning on doing during deferral?</p>
<p>I'm doing a homestay program in England from september to april, and once I get home I'm getting a job to have a little extra cash for college...</p>
<p>Do you know if I need to notify them when I send the enrollment deposit in, or is it okay to tell them a few weeks afterwards?</p>
