I was deferred from FSU due to my poor test scores a couple weeks ago. I have a 3.46 GPA and had a 1600 SAT and a 21 ACT, but I have a tutor and plan on retesting in February and scoring somewhere in the 26-28 range on the ACT. My grades so far are very poor however. In all of my classes I received a high B average and in AP Bio I got a 79. I talked to an admissions officer and they specifically told me that I needed to work on my test scores, but I’m scared once they see a C my senior year, they’ll deny me. Will high test scores make up for my poor grades senior year? (Florida State favors my parochial school…people with 3.3’s and 24 ACT’s were offered admission…so I’m not entierly worried about my GPA.
If you could get a 28 ACT it would highly increase you’re chances, with a 28 you’ll be in the higher pool of accepted students, which should help compensate bad high-school grades.
